The EEOC is where to go when you have exhausted your company’s internal processes for reporting harassment or discrimination or if the company has failed to recognize or bring justice to your complaint. While sexual orientation and gender identity are not included in all state’s EEO policies, the EEOC has been successful at charging these cases as sexual harassment. If your state or company does not include sexual orientation and/or gender identity in its EEO policy do not let that stop you from contacting the EEOC for help! Be sure to check their page though because most complaints have a time restriction.
